FAQ

Are you a manufacturer or a reseller?

Lounge & Leather is a product line of EASEN Commercial Furniture, which manufactures in its own production base in Lecong, Shunde District, Foshan, China. We build frames, cut foam and upholster in-house, and ship factory-direct to your venue or freight forwarder. There is no showroom markup and no distributor in between.

What kind of leather do you recommend for a cocktail bar?

For most bars we recommend a protected (pigmented) leather or a semi-aniline. Both carry a surface finish that resists spills, sanitizer and hand oils far better than pure aniline. Choose aniline only if you want a patina and accept marks as part of the look. We do not recommend bonded leather for any commercial seat, because its surface layer tends to peel under daily use.

Can we supply our own leather (COL)?

Yes. Send the hide specification and we will calculate the quantity from the approved drawings. Leather comes as whole hides rather than rolls, so cutting waste is higher than with fabric. We will state the number of hides or square feet needed, including waste, before you order.

Do you make faux leather or vinyl versions?

Yes. We upholster in contract-grade vinyl and polyurethane (PU) faux leather when budget, cleaning regime or animal-free requirements call for it. Contract vinyl is usually the most cleanable option for high-turnover seats. We will advise on abrasion rating and backing so you get a material made for commercial seating.

How long does production take?

Typically 30-45 days for standard designs and 45-60 days for custom work, counted from drawing and sample approval. Sea transit comes on top. The exact schedule is confirmed in your quote, and we will tell you early if a specific leather or finish affects it.

Can you meet US, UK or Gulf fire requirements?

We specify fire-retardant foams, interliners and contract-grade covers to the destination market's rules on request, for example CAL TB 117-2013 in the US or BS 7176 composites in the UK. Test reports are supplied for specific items where available. Your local fire officer or code consultant decides what applies to your venue, so please share their requirements at the quote stage.

What is your minimum order?

Minimums are low for contract orders and are confirmed per design. A single bar fit-out, such as a run of booths plus stools and a few club chairs, is a normal order for us. Mixed-SKU container loads are welcome.

Can I see a sample before ordering the full room?

Yes. We send leather and finish swatches first, and on request build a pre-production sample of a key piece, typically one booth section or one club chair. You approve comfort, stitching and finish before the full order goes into production.

Do you ship to the UK and the Gulf as well as the US?

Yes. We quote FOB Chinese port, CIF to your destination port or DDP to your door, depending on how you prefer to handle import. For DDP we coordinate with a freight forwarder for customs clearance and delivery. Duty and tax treatment depends on your country and the product classification.

How are long booth runs shipped and installed?

Booths are built in sections, typically up to about 8 ft (2.4 m) long, so they fit through doors and into containers. Each section is labelled to match a layout sheet, and sections join with concealed bolts. Any competent fit-out contractor can install them; wall-hung booths need a structural fixing plan, which we include.

Which seats work best in a cigar lounge?

Leather club chairs and lounge sofas with protected or semi-aniline hides, paired with side tables for ashtrays, are the classic choice. Leather tends to char rather than melt when an ember lands, it does not trap smoke odour the way open-weave fabrics do, and it wipes clean. Ventilation design matters more than furniture choice, so read our cigar lounge planning guide.

Can you match an existing booth or chair design?

Usually, yes. Send photos, measurements and if possible a section drawing, and we will propose a drawing for approval. We do not copy protected designs or reproduce trademarks or logos. We build to your dimensions and specification.

Do you offer nailhead trim, deep buttoning and channel tufting?

Yes. These are standard techniques in our workshop: deep diamond buttoning, biscuit tufting without buttons, vertical and horizontal channels, contrast piping and antique-brass nailhead trim at spacings you specify. Each detail is shown on the shop drawing before production.

How do I care for leather seating in a busy bar?

Wipe spills immediately with a damp cloth, clean weekly with a pH-neutral leather cleaner, and avoid alcohol-based sanitizers or bleach, which dry and crack the finish over time. Condition semi-aniline and aniline leathers every few months. Keep seats away from heaters and strong direct sun to prevent drying and fading.
