The Platform Bolster sits low, close to daybed height, which gives a lounge a relaxed, after-hours feel. A single long seat cushion, channel-stitched and lightly buttoned, rests on a black-stained timber platform. Along the back, three padded leather rolls line up in a row. At each end, a round bolster stands in for an arm, so guests can lean into the corner or sit sideways.
The platform base is set back from the seat edge, so the leather seems to float a little above the floor.
Construction
- Hardwood and plywood platform base, black stain
- Sinuous spring deck with high-resilience foam
- Channel-stitched, buttoned seat cushion; separate back rolls and bolsters
- Cognac leather shown; protected leather or contract vinyl for heavy service
It works along a lounge wall facing a low coffee table, in a hotel lobby bar or as the main sofa in a private room. We build it to your wall length, typically as one piece up to about 98 in (250 cm), with longer runs split in sections. Seat depth can be reduced for rooms where guests mostly sit upright.
