A Chesterfield group is the quickest way to make a new room feel like it has been open for decades. This one keeps the classic proportions: back and arms at the same height, deep diamond buttoning across the inside back and the scroll of each arm, and a buttoned front rail below the seat.
The three-seater shown in burnt-orange velvet has three loose seat cushions and two scatter cushions. The club chairs use the same frame scaled down, one in forest-green leather and one in black velvet. Antique-brass nailheads trace the arm fronts and the lower rail on every piece, and all of them stand on turned dark wood bun feet.
Built for service
- Hardwood frame with arm fronts blocked and screwed into the seat rail
- Hand-folded deep buttoning on a firm foam base so the pleats hold their shape
- Loose seat cushions in HR foam with a fibre wrap, easy to rotate and replace
- Contract velvet, protected leather or semi-aniline leather, mixed per piece if you like
Mixing materials works well here. A velvet sofa between two leather chairs keeps a group from looking like a showroom set, while the shared buttoning and brass hold it together.
