Oil-wax leather is a hide finished with oils and waxes rather than a heavy pigment coat. It darkens where hands rest and lightens where it is pulled tight, so a new sofa starts to look broken-in within weeks. For a whiskey bar or cigar room that patina is the point.
The sofa has deep diamond buttoning across the back and the outside of the rolled arms, three loose seat cushions, a buttoned front rail with a nailhead border, and turned black feet. In the lounge view the same leather is used on matching club armchairs with buttoned backs and arms of even height, grouped around black stone-look pedestal tables.
Construction
- Kiln-dried hardwood frame, sinuous springs and HR foam seat cushions with a fibre wrap
- Hand-folded buttoning on firm foam
- Brass-tone nailheads on arm fronts and the front rail
- Turned hardwood feet in a black finish, fitted with glides
Good to know before you order
Oil-wax leather marks easily and recovers with a rub of the hand. If your venue needs a uniform, spill-proof surface, ask for a protected leather in a similar brown instead; we will send both swatches side by side.
