The back of this sofa looks like the edge of a shell. It is built from a row of rounded vertical channels, tallest at the centre and stepping down toward each end, where the last channels curl inward to form a soft arm. The seat follows the curve in two long pieces joined at the middle, with a welt along the front edge.
Each colourway is shown from two angles, which makes the depth of the curve clear. The plan is a gentle crescent, so the sofa can sit against a curved wall or float in front of a round table.
Shown in
- Mustard leather
- Ivory leather
Construction
- Laminated hardwood and plywood frame, braced every 16-20 in (40-50 cm)
- Each channel filled separately with HR foam and fibre, so the scallops keep their shape
- Seat cut to the curve in HR foam
- Dark recessed plinth with glides
In the room
Pair it with a round cocktail table about 36-40 in (91-102 cm) across, set at the centre of the curve, and two club chairs on the open side. Ivory looks best in a lit lobby bar; for a dark cocktail room, mustard or a deep green carries better.
