This booth relies on good materials and clean lines instead of tufting or channels. The seat and back are single smooth panels in oxblood leather with a pebbled grain. Ochre piping traces every edge, and a brushed brass cap runs the full length of the top of the back. The cap protects the back from glasses and elbows, and from chairs knocking it, which is where booth tops usually wear first.
A solid walnut plinth sits set back under the seat. It keeps shoes away from the leather and adds a warm wood band at floor level.
Construction
- Hardwood and plywood frame on a walnut plinth
- Sinuous springs and high-resilience foam in the seat
- Brushed brass top cap, fixed to the frame
- Oxblood pebble-grain leather with ochre piping; any leather or vinyl, piping color to suit
It suits steakhouse bars, hotel bars and brasseries that want a classic, well-made look without heavy detailing. Plain panels are also the easiest to clean and re-cover, so it makes sense for high-turnover rooms. Runs can be straight, L-shaped or U-shaped, with the brass cap mitred at the corners.
