The Cognac Shell takes the proportions of a traditional club chair (low, deep, enveloping) and wraps them in a bent-walnut outer shell. The leather interior is soft and slightly loose-fitted so it creases and patinates naturally; the wood exterior protects the chair's back and sides from the knocks of a busy room.
It sits at lounge height, so guests settle back rather than perch, and its recessed plinth keeps the chair grounded while making cleaning underneath easy.
