The Saddle-Curve is built for long seated drinks at a table. It is upright enough for food but shaped like a lounge chair. One continuous padded band runs around the back and forward into both arms, so guests can lean an elbow anywhere along it. The seat is a separate deep pad, slightly dished, in the same taupe leather.
The frame is solid timber stained near-black, with the open grain still showing. The front legs rise straight into the arm supports, and the rear legs angle back for stability. A rail under the back band links the two, so the upholstery is not taking load at the joint. On busy floors that joint is where most armchairs fail first.
Construction
- Solid hardwood frame (ash shown), black stain, mortise-and-tenon joints
- Moulded foam back band over a plywood former
- High-resilience foam seat pad
- Taupe leather shown; any protected leather, contract vinyl or COL
It suits whiskey bars with a food menu, members' club dining rooms and hotel lounges where the same chair has to work at breakfast and after midnight.
