The gathered inner back is what you notice first. The leather is drawn into fine vertical folds across the inside of the shell, so the chair looks soft even when nobody is in it. The outer shell stays smooth and wraps all the way round. A flat back panel is set in with a piped border, and the arms rise to a crisp point at the front corners.
The chair sits low and wide, with a deep cushioned seat and four slim black legs set in from the edge, so it reads as one solid piece of leather. It is a true lounge chair, sized for a cocktail table rather than a dining height.
Construction
- Hardwood and plywood frame, corner-blocked
- Sinuous springs and high-resilience foam in the seat; fibre-wrapped foam in the back
- Ochre leather shown; protected leather or contract vinyl suits high-turnover rooms
- Black metal legs with floor glides
Use pairs either side of a low table in a lounge bar, or a run of them facing a stage in a jazz room. In darker rooms the ochre catches low light well; we also make it in oxblood, chocolate and black.
