These are shown from behind on purpose. In a lounge the outer back of a settee is often the first thing guests see, so this range puts its detail there. Each version has a black leather top rail and inner back above a brown leather shell that curves down at the ends into the arms, on splayed black tapered legs.
Outer-back finishes shown
- Diamond-quilted brown leather, with nailheads along the arm front
- Smooth brown leather with large dome studs following the curved rim
- Smooth brown leather with a fine row of nailheads tracing the rim
Scatter cushions in brown leather or a striped fabric come with the settee. Seat style and front details are confirmed on the drawing.
Construction
- Kiln-dried hardwood and plywood frame with a shaped back rail
- Sinuous springs, HR foam and fibre wrap
- Two leathers per piece; quilting stitched onto a foam backing so it stays raised
- Splayed hardwood legs with glides
Choosing a finish
Quilting adds texture under low light. Dome studs give a stronger, more industrial look. The fine nailhead row is the quietest. All three can be made as matching armchairs.
