Here the frame and the cushions are two separate ideas. A thin black box, upholstered in dark leather, forms the arms and the outside of the chair and stands on black legs. Inside it sit a thick rolled back cushion and a deep seat cushion in brown oil-wax leather, so the soft part of the chair is the part guests touch.
In the bar view the chairs are arranged in fours around small round tables with black stone-look tops and gold vein lines. That layout works well where you want lounge comfort but still need to fit a lot of covers: each four-seat group takes roughly a 7 ft (2.1 m) square.
Construction
- Hardwood and plywood box frame, upholstered in dark leather
- HR foam cushions with a fibre wrap; the back cushion is shaped to roll forward at the top
- Oil-wax leather on the cushions; protected leather if you prefer an even colour
- Black legs with glides
The two-colour build also makes repairs simpler. When a seat cushion wears, it can be recovered without touching the frame.
