The Workshop mixes three materials, and each one is easy to read. A tray of warm-toned solid timber holds the seat and back. Two cushions in tan leather sit in it, stitched in narrow horizontal channels that look a little like an old car seat. Flat timber arms rest on a black steel rod frame, which drops to the floor in splayed legs with round ball feet.
The channels are practical as well as decorative. They stop the foam shifting, so the cushion keeps its shape, and the seams give crumbs fewer places to hide than deep buttoning.
Construction
- Solid hardwood tray frame and arms, natural oak-tone finish
- Black powder-coated steel rod base with ball feet
- Channel-stitched seat and back cushions over high-resilience foam
- Tan leather shown; contract vinyl in a leather look for heavy use
It suits craft-beer bars, whiskey bars with a workshop or garage theme, and hotel lounges that lean mid-century. The timber tone can be darkened to walnut for a more traditional room.
